Leasing Information

The Armory will be 100 years old in 2015 and is about to be repurposed into one of the most exciting redevelopments in mid-Michigan! While preserving its historic exterior, interior renovations will offer a fresh and forward-looking perspective that will stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit, and embrace and nurture collaborative growth. Get in on the ground-floor opportunity of Shiawassee County’s first class-A office space.

Redevelopment of The Armory offers new and exciting opportunities you won’t find anywhere else in the region–including the county’s first -ever class-A office space in a downtown. Let’s start with the location. Your staff will enjoy the benefits of working in an urban setting that’s experiencing exciting revitalization. Owosso and the surrounding communities are filled with great schools, wonderful neighborhoods and lots of family friendly activities.

Imagine being able to walk to Curwood Castle or the Shiawassee Arts Center for lunch, or sitting next door at a new brew pub on the river after work with a cold Michigan craft beer in your hand. You could watch a local band play right outside your office door at the nearby amphitheater. Walk to a great dinner and show after work. The area has 17 restaurants within walking distance. The Armory will also serve as the head for the Clinton-Ionia-Shiawassee Trailway, connecting you with groomed, scenic nature and bike trails.

Revitalization of The Armory includes fresh, state-of-the-art décor, high ceilings with open floor plans, and 36,000 sq. ft. of leasable office space with shared amenities that include conference, break, training and community rooms. An exceptional 1G of Internet speed from Owosso’s DayStarr Communications will make technology use a breeze.

Networking will be a daily event over coffee in the common areas or in group meetings. Do business with the attorney, accountant or other professionals located in the same building. Host the best holiday party in town in one of the most historical – yet most modern – facilities in the region. When it’s time to take a break, get out of the office and sit by the river on a bench surrounded by beautiful landscape. You’ll have an inviting natural setting – just outside the door. What a great place to work!

Be Part of History/Share Your Story
We have already heard from many individuals who have great stories to tell about their experiences at The Armory, whether they grew up in the community or were visiting. You’ve told us about attending concerts, having your high school proms, holding wedding receptions, using the old swimming pool in the basement, watching wrestling tournaments or stopping by a home and garden show. Most importantly, we’ve begun to learn about the soldiers who were prepared and sent out to serve our country as members of the Army National Guard. Their sacrifices are the most humbling and respectable as we begin to redevelop The Armory into a destination that’s reflective of its proud past and a living symbol of Shiawassee County’s economic and community strength.

We want to hear more, and we’d love pictures or other artifacts you may be willing to share with us as we continue to tell The Armory’s story.

There are several ways to do this:

  • Post on our Facebook page
  • Send us an e-mail at info@thearmoryproject.com
  • Call us at 989-723-5149
  • Stop by the Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce’s offices at 215 N. Water Street in Owosso

Make sure to leave your contact information so we can follow up with you.

All photos and artifacts can be returned if you wish once the project is complete. Donated items will also be graciously accepted. Thank you to the people and organizations who have already dropped off pictures and other historical items. We look forward to compiling everything into a fun and educational glimpse of the past!
